History
Back in 1996, we were first approached by a casino whose player's club ran an
"NFL Pick the Pros" contest. Since betting on sports is illegal everywhere but
in Nevada, they had come up with a giveaway promotion to sign up 'Frequent
Players'. As everyone knows, if you can get them through the door, well, that's
half the battle. As is turns out they had hundreds of players a week
coming in to enter their promotion just to "pick the winners" and win prizes.
They also offered a seasonal contest at a chance to win bigger money.
As with any large project, tracking thousands of players over the NFL or
Nascar season got to be a tremendous chore. Players were filling out forms, circling
numbers, and dropping them off at the desk. Since the staff was working full
time as it was, they had to be paid overtime to stay and score each sheet turned
in.
Not only did it take a lot of time and money but accuracy became a
factor as well. Players could only play once per week before tracking
their season scores became a real nightmare.
We developed the SportGame system to solve such a problem...

 1. Create a Lineup Sheet
SportGame will provide pre-made lineup sheets for whatever contest
you are running. NFL Football, NCAA Sports, NASCAR, you name it...we can
even help you create your own. You come up with a contest and SportGame
will put
it in a lineup sheet.

 2. Fill out a play ticket
Pre-printed play tickets are generic and can
accommodate any contest. It requires a player entry number (most
often you will use your frequent player number), a game number, and an area to fill in the selections
and tiebreaker.

Process Your Ticket thought the SportGame Data Unit (SDU)
The equipment is leased only during the course of the contest,
and you simply
'Pay to Play'. It consists of a laptop with a windows based program
running, a ticket reader, and a receipt printer. A quick and simple
installation will have you up and running in no time. Your patrons come in to play and pick up a Lineup
Sheet and Play Ticket. They fill out the ticket with their player
number, game number, their selections, and a tiebreaker. On the back is
a place to sign ...eliminating any question of someone filling out
someone else's player number. The ticket is handed to your staff and it
is run through the SDU where the data is recorded and a receipt is
printed...and that's it. Your patrons can play once per
day, or once per week...it's up to you. At the end of the weekly contest,
data is transferred directly to the SportGame website for processing and scoring....no networks
to setup...no expensive equipment to tie into your existing system...just plug and go.
4. Get your results
The following day, results are available at the SportGame website. A generic form allows you to
display all or part of the results to your patrons. They come back to
your location for the results. Your contests, your prizes,
SportGame
tracks it for you.
